MONROE, N.C. — Authorities are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for a burglary at a pawn shop in Monroe.
According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, thieves broke into Monroe Pawn and Gun on Skyway Drive early Monday morning and stole multiple firearms.
The ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by both the National Shooting Sports Foundations, the trade association for the firearms industry and the Union County Crime Stoppers for a total of up to $15,000.
ATF agents are investigating the theft along with the Monroe Police Department.
A similar burglary took place at a store in Monroe last month, but officials have not said if the crimes are related
