14-year-old hurt in drive-by shooting while walking near Rock Hill grocery store

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police are investigating after a 14-year-old was shot while walking near a grocery store in York County Sunday evening.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. near Adam’s Grocery on Wilson Street in Rock Hill.

When officers got to the area, they found a 14-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. The teen was taken to Piedmont Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

Authorities said the teenager was walking near Adam’s Grocery when a white Ford Crown Victoria drove by and someone inside fired several times, hitting the victim.

The car was last seen driving toward Dave Lyle Boulevard and Pond Street. Officials have not released any additional information about potential suspects.

No arrests have been made.
