CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 13-year-old was charged with bringing a gun to school Tuesday at Invest Collegiate near Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte.

The weapon was discovered shortly after 8:30 a.m. and some parents said they didn’t know about it.
"Right here? They didn't tell us that,” parent Kajijah Morrison said.
It is unknown what the teen was doing with it, or why it was taken to the charter school.
The gun was a .32 caliber Clerke revolver.
"It's easy for children to get a hold of guns,” a guardian, Roberta Leper, said. “It don't matter if it's this school or any other school."
No injuries were reported.
We have not gotten a response from the school about the incident.
