FOLLY BEACH, S.C. — Officials said a 12-year-old surfer was bit by a shark on Folly Beach Sunday morning, WCIV reported.
Authorities said the incident happened around 11:30 a.m near 5th and 6th East Street.

The boy had a shark bite on his foot/ankle, according to Chief Andrew Gilreath of Folly Beach Public Safety. He was taken to a hospital, but is expected to be OK.
