JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina school bus driver is facing a charge and has been suspended from her job after her bus crashed near a school, injuring 11 students.

Officials with the Johnston County school system and the N.C. State Highway Patrol said the bus went off the right side of the road near Cleveland High School, then crossed the road to the left and overturned, news outlets reported.
The driver was not impaired while driving and had no medical condition that would have caused the accident, authorities said. Road conditions were clear, according to state troopers, and there were no obstructions on the road.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and cited for failure to maintain control. The 11 students were taken to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries before they were taken back to high school, officials said.
