3 arrested in Saturday shooting at Lancaster Co. apartment complex

LANCASTER, S.C. — Lancaster County deputies arrested someone in a shooting at a busy apartment complex Saturday night.

Kyndra Jones, 20, Brandon Thompson, 21, and Ronnel Thompson 21 have been charged with assault and batter of a high and aggravated nature. All three suspects are currently jailed at the Lancaster County Detention Center.

Deputies said a man was injured when he was shot in the parking lot and rushed to the hospital.

The man's name hasn't been released, but he is still in the hospital.

Police taped off the lot at the Woodcreek Apartments in Lancaster, S.C.

They said they recovered a gun but did not say how many times the man was shot.

When Eyewitness News arrived on scene, more than a dozen deputies and Lancaster police officers were at the complex, surveying the scene, talking to residents, and bagging evidence.

Trell Twitty said she visits her sister at the apartment complex, sometimes staying overnight with her own children.

"This is crazy," she said. "It is shocking."

Twitty said when she pulled up in her cream-colored Toyota, one of the officers approached her and said they were looking for a car similar to hers.

"The kind of car they was told that the person was driving was the color car that I drive," she said. "So you know that kind of shook me up."

Deputies wouldn't say much about suspects but they said some men ran through the woods after the shooting.

They tracked them down and said Saturday night that they are questioning them.

Twitty, who said she lived at the apartments a couple years ago, doesn't believe anything like this ever happened here before.

"It's kind of scary," she said.
