22-year-old killed when motorcycle collides with Jeep in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a wreck Thursday afternoon in south Charlotte, police said.

Jacob Todd Woolery was going west on Fairview Road between Carmel and Colony roads at about 3 p.m. when he collided with a 2014 Jeep Wrangler that pulled out to make a left turn, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Woolery was ejected, and he died at the scene.

The 16-year-old driver of the Jeep was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was shut down in both directions during the ongoing investigation.
