SHELBY, N.C. — One person is dead after a shooting in Shelby on Thursday evening.
Officers with the Shelby Police Department were called to Grice Street off South Dekalb Street just after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday for shots fired in the area.
At the scene, police found a white male with multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard.
Cleveland County EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene shortly after getting there.
Police later identified the victim as 49-year-old Stacey Mills McSwain, from Shelby.
The Shelby Police Department says they are still actively investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made at this time.
