UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A portion of Lancaster Highway was shut down Thursday night after a fatal crash.
Highway Patrol confirmed one person died after a car appeared to go under a tractor-trailer around 9:30 p.m. near Fletcher Broome Road in Monroe.
Authorities identified Joan Mitchell Boyle, 54, as the woman killed in the wreck.
