Kings Mountain, N.C. — One person was pronounced dead early Friday morning following a crash on I-85 south bound near exit 8.
When officers arrived on scene just before 2 a.m. they found wreckage from a crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi tractor-trailer truck.
After some investigation, officials determined that the passenger car was traveling north in the south bound lane at the time of the crash.
The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer had no reportable injuries.
The victim has been identified as George Joseph White Jr., 53, of Charlotte.
