Police said they responded to the crash around 7 p.m. involving a Lexus RX350 and a Nissan Altima.
The driver and passengers of the Lexus were taken to the hospital with serious and minor injuries.
Police said the driver of the Nissan Altima, Noah Barbee was pronounced dead on the scene.
Major Crash Investigation Unit Detectives said Barbee was traveling southeast on Pence Road when he approached the curve at a high rate of speed.
Officials said he was not able to navigate the curve and hit the Lexus head-on while it was traveling in the northwest lane. The Lexus spun and ran off the side of the road while the Nissan spun out of control.
Barbee was ejected from the vehicle, according to officials.
Police determined the driver of the Lexus was not impaired and speed was not a factor.
CMPD told Channel 9 speed was a factor for the driver of the Nissan Altima, and they are waiting on test results to see if the driver was impaired.
The investigation is still ongoing.
