KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Police say one person is in the hospital with injuries after an officer-involved shooting Saturday night in Kannapolis.
Kannapolis police say that around 10:30 p.m. officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that they believed to be occupied with someone who had outstanding warrants.
The stop was made near North Cannon Boulevard.
Officials say that during the stop, one person in the vehicle was shot and later taken to the hospital.
Police say that no officers or anyone else was hurt.
The officers involved in this incident have been placed on administrative leave and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has been requested to investigate the shooting as standard procedures following an officer-involved shooting.
