CFD: 1 hurt in east Charlotte fire caused by water heater malfunction

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person suffered minor injuries after a fire broke out at a home in east Charlotte Monday night.

It took 23 firefighters 12 minutes to control a blaze at the home on Clark Street.

One person was treated by paramedics but will be OK. Fire investigators said the fire was accidental, caused by a malfunctioning water heater in the utility room.

The fire caused about $36,000 in damage.
