An accident on I-77 near 570 Westinghouse Boulevard Sunday morning left a U.S. mail truck driver with life-threatening injuries, medics said.

Police said the driver fell asleep at the wheel, and the truck went off the left side of the interstate down an embankment.
The injured person was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition, medics said.
Two of four lanes on Westinghouse Boulevard and one lane of I-77 were closed until 11 a.m. Sunday.
Guardrail repairs are expected to be made Monday.
