1 dead in York County crash, troopers say

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A person has died following a crash in York County Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. on Interstate 77 near SC Highway 161.

Troopers said a 2020 SUV was traveling south on Interstate 77 when it struck a deer, hit a barrier, and returned to the roadway before hitting a median.

The driver of the SUV, 23-year-old Shaniyah Glover, died at the scene.

Troopers said pathology and toxicology are pending.
