CHARLOTTE — An 18-year-old Charlotte woman was shot and killed during an argument Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of a gas station near the Charlotte city limit, Mint Hill police said.
Mint Hill police were called to the Shell gas station in the 10300 block of Albemarle Road at about 4 p.m.

Officers found the victim, Jayla Symone Barrett, in a car in the parking lot near the gas pumps.
They performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but she died at the scene, according to police.
Officers said they took a female, juvenile suspect and someone believed to be a witness into custody at the scene.
On Friday afternoon, police said nobody was in police or jail custody at this time.
Police said it appears a physical altercation between the victim and suspect preceded the shooting.
The SBI was asked to help process the crime scene.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department assisted with the initial call and secured the area. The Mint Hill Police Department is in charge of this investigation.
