CHARLOTTE — An overnight shooting in north Charlotte has left an 18-year-old dead and another hurt Saturday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Officers were already in the area of West Sugar Creek Road and Reagan Drive when they heard gunshots just before3:30 a.m., CMPD said. They found Jaterrious Moore, 18, shot and lying on the ground in the parking lot.

According to CMPD, officers tried to help Moore but MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene shortly afterwards.
A second person was found later who had been shot. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
CMPD officers are continuing to investigate and will release more information as it becomes available.
