CHARLOTTE — A man is dead after a shooting in east Mecklenburg County overnight Sunday.
Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit said it happened just before 10 p.m. on Old Camden Road.
Police said they got a call about shots being fired and found 31-year-old Cameron Lackey shot once. He died at the scene.
Investigators said this all started as a confrontation between two people and have since arrested 18-year-old Michael William McAllister.
According to court documents, he’s charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
