CHARLOTTE — A suspect is in custody after a woman was killed over the weekend at a gas station in north Charlotte.
Police say they were called just after 11 p.m. Saturday to the QuikTrip at 7240 Trailer Drive off Graham Street. They found a woman at the scene and, shortly after, MEDIC pronounced her dead.

On Monday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified the victim as Glandina Latamba Dixon, 47.
CMPD also said Sam Roary, 53, was arrested and charged with murder.
According to a warrant, the 911 caller who found Dixon said she was in a bathroom stall at the QuikTrip when she heard a noise inside the bathroom. She said Dixon was bleeding from the back of her head and there was blood on the floor.
In the warrant, police said Dixon had been hit in the head, resulting in her death.
Detectives looked through surveillance video at the gas station and, according to the warrant, saw a black Ford F-150 pulling into the parking lot earlier that night. A man got out of it and followed Dixon into the convenience store.
The warrant says the man watched Dixon inside the store before he went back to his truck and grabbed a hammer. Dixon went into the bathroom, and the warrant says the man went into that same bathroom. He was in there for about 40 seconds before the camera showed him leaving the bathroom, getting into his truck, and driving off.
Detectives were able to identify the man in the surveillance video as Roary and took out the murder charge against him.
QuikTrip shared a statement with Channel 9 about the incident:
“Our top priority is always the safety of our employees and customers, and we take this responsibility very seriously,” the statement reads. “We are working closely with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and will continue to assist with their ongoing investigation into the incident that took place Saturday evening at our location on Trailer Drive. We are grateful to CMPD’s swift and professional response to this tragedy and for the care they’ve shown to our employees in recent days. We will continue to take necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and communities we serve.”
