Victim identified, second suspect charged with murder after remains found in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A second suspect is in custody and a victim has been identified after police found human remains in Huntersville at the end of January.

The remains were found on Jan. 26 in the area of Comanche Road, near Hambright Road. The victim was later identified as Alibria “Libby” Kerns, 47, of Rowan County.

In January, police released a photo and video of who they believed to be the victim.

Kerns was described as being approximately five feet, seven inches tall. In the surveillance video, she can be seen wearing a T-shirt, shorts and dark shoes with white soles. She was also wearing a silicone ring on her left hand.

Police said they believed Kerns had been missing since July 2021. Since sharing the surveillance video, Huntersville police said they received many leads that helped identify her.

On Jan. 28, police said they arrested and charged Christopher John Nailor with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and concealing a death. He is being held at the Mecklenburg County jail without bond.

On Monday, Huntersville police said they identified a second suspect in the case who is in custody in Grand Rapids, Michigan on unrelated charges. The Huntersville Police Department took out charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and concealing a death for Cody “Red” Camarda Graham, 36. Graham will remain in custody in Michigan until she has an extradition hearing.

The Huntersville Police Department thanked the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the North Carolina SBI, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Kannapolis Police Department for their help in the case.
