CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police desperately need the public’s help as they continue to try to find the person who killed a man five days before Christmas last year.
Danneul McLean, 29, was shot in the head in the early morning of Dec. 20, 2018, outside a home on Druid Circle in north Charlotte.

Police have pictures of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck they believe was involved, but they don’t have much more than that to work with. That truck has several identifying features. Police think it was either blue or black with a silver/metallic stripe along both sides. It has an extended cab with tinted rear windows. There was no toolbox or railing in the bed and the truck had a loud exhaust.
They said they know there are pieces missing and that people can help them put the puzzle together.
McLean‘s mother, Bernice McLean, made a brief but powerful plea for help.

“He had four children that’s missing him, wanting to know what happened to their father,” she said. “And I just want to say if there’s anyone out there that knows anything concerning my son’s death, please give us closure.”
Police are asking anyone who knows anything about the murder to call them at 704-432-TIPS.
