ROCK HILL, S.C. — It's been almost 20 years since Rae Carruth orchestrated the death of his pregnant girlfriend Cherica Adams in Charlotte.
Now, Cherica Adams' mother, Saundra Adams, is helping to give awards in her daughter's name.

Friday, leaders of the Office of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services honored those who step up to help victims of domestic violence and their abusers -- a mission that that is deeply personal for Saundra Adams.
"I have made it a mission to be a voice for the voiceless, and to make an impact," Saundra Adams said.
