DAVIDSON, N.C. — Students at Davidson College were given a scare Wednesday morning when reports of gunfire drew police to a building on campus.
The college sent students and staff an emergency message about an active threat after officers received reports of gunfire at the Hurt Hub@Davidson.

Police rushed to the building but found no signs of an active shooter or any other threat.
Shortly after, officials gave the all-clear message.

College officials said they were still investigating the report and would share more details soon.
“The safety and well-being of Davidson students is our highest priority, and we take all reports of threats seriously,” said Todd Sigler, chief of campus police and public safety director. “We’re grateful for the vigilance of the Davidson community and the preparation of our campus police, who have led frequent training sessions on threat assessment and response.”
