CONCORD, N.C. — New renderings reveal plans for a $100 million expansion to the Cabarrus County courthouse in Concord.

The county is planning to build a 245,000-square-foot courthouse in addition to renovating the existing courthouse on Union Street.
The new building will take over an existing parking lot that’s adjacent to the 45-year-old courthouse.
Construction is expected to begin in 2020.
