On Wednesday, Eyewitness News discovered that Lanham's probation officer, Carlton Ogg, resigned after being pressed for information about the alleged abuse and an investigation by the Department of Corrections.

Warrants show Addison died when an untreated MRSA infection reached her bloodstream, poisoning her.

The toddler also had a broken leg that went untreated, investigators said.

On the day she died, Addison was with Wells at a motel on Edgewood Road where she and her mother had been staying.

Wells is a convicted sex offender and was also charged with baby-sitting as a sex offender and failing to register the correct address.

He was transferred to a facility in Raleigh, North Carolina after receiving multiple death threats at the Gaston County jail.
