GASTONIA, N.C.,None — A Gastonia man needed 19 staples to close up a gash he got in a parking lot fight.
The incident happened nearly two weeks ago in the parking lot of Friendly Convenience Store at 2829 S. York Rd. in Gastonia.
Thomas Richard Beasley and Rocky Shane Millwood started fighting in the parking lot on June 8. Millwood then pulled out a knife and slashed Beasley across the chest, according to arrest warrant affidavits.
A warrant for Millwood's arrest was issued on June 15.
Millwood was arrested over the weekend and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was assigned an unsecured bond.
Millwood has been arrested in Gaston County three times this year and four times from 2009 to 2010. All of those prior charges have been drug or alcohol related.
