Eyewitness News Expands To Mornings On TV64

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — WAXN-TV, Channel 64, will start a morning newscast that will air 7-9 a.m. weekdays. The newscast will start this September to coincide with the traditional start of the fall television season.

WAXN-TV already airs a 10 p.m. newscast each night. "Eyewitness News at 10" is currently the fastest-growing local newscast in the Charlotte market in the core advertising sales demographic of adults 25-54.

Like the 10 p.m. news, "Eyewitness News This Morning" will be produced and presented by staff of WSOC-TV. Viewers should expect to see the anchors, reporters and meteorologists they already know from the highly-rated "Eyewitness News Daybreak" and other WSOC-TV newscasts. Additional staffers for Channel 64's morning news will be announced at a later date.

This new newscast will deliver the fast-paced, timely information viewers have come to expect from all Eyewitness News newscasts. Up-to-date local and national news, breaking news and traffic and weather information will be a priority in the 7-9 a.m. newscast just as it is from 5-7 a.m. on "Daybreak."
