The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department made new allegations against former CMPD Officer Marcus Jackson Friday.

Timeline

Jackson was fired after women came forward and said he had sexually assaulted them while on duty.

He is currently being held in jail.

The most recent incident involves two females who were riding together.

On Dec. 28, Jackson stopped a car with two females in it for speeding on Matheson Avenue. During the stop, Jackson asked them to step out of the vehicle and for consent to search them, police said. The females gave Jackson consent and as a result of an improper search, CMPD said it is recommending to the District Attorney's Office that additional charges of sexual battery be filed against Jackson.

CMPD said it is actively investigating the other allegations against Jackson.

The department is looking into past traffic stops and calls for service involving Jackson to determine if investigation into other events is needed.

CMPD encourages the public to contact police with any information about the case against Jackson.

Detective Mike Melendez is the lead detective, and he can be contacted at 704-353-0560.
