ROCK HILL, S.C.,None — A mechanic found a cheeseburger and a pickle stuffed in the gas tank of a Rock Hill woman's car, Channel 9's newspaper partner, The Herald in Rock Hill, reported.
The 30-year-old woman told police she took her car to the mechanic after she noticed it wasn't running properly. It would stop running, start again and then cut off a few minutes later, she said.
After the mechanic identified the problem, the woman reported the incident to police. She told them she had no idea how the food got in her gas tank.
The lunch didn't come cheap: The mechanic estimated the damage to the woman's car at $1,000.
In a separate incident reported in Rock Hill on Tuesday, another woman reported seeing the door to her gas tank open when she left her home. Someone poured sugar in her gas tank and scratched the outside of her car, according to the police report. The damage was estimated at $500.
