CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — A Charlotte mother has been charged in connection with her daughter's death.
Investigators arrested Brittini Ward's mother, Dawn Ward, in Lexington County on Wednesday.
Dawn Ward is now being held in Charlotte and is charged with murder and accessory after the fact to a felony.
Another family member, Derek Ward, was arrested last month and charged with murder and rape. Brittini Ward was his cousin.
Police found 23-year-old Brittini Ward dead inside an apartment on Providence Court Lane on May 5. Police said Derek Ward was living in the same home as Brittini Ward at the time of her death.
Investigators haven't said how Brittini Ward died.
