NEW YORK — Right before first lady Michelle Obama and her children showed up for a musical in New York, a Charlotte man's joke caused a bomb scare.
Ross Mandell was sitting in the audience for "Spider-man" and was joking about blowing up the theater if the show was bad.
Unfortunately, the Obamas were on the way there, and Secret Service had to slow their motorcade down, sweep the theater and search Mandell before letting the show go on as planned.
