RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — An autopsy report shows that a self-proclaimed Satanist who died in a Raleigh prison earlier this year died from blood loss from a deep wound to a major blood vessel in his left arm.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported that 36-year-old Pazuzu Algarad was found in a pool of blood on a bed in his cell at Central Prison early on Oct. 28.
Algarad was being held on charges that he killed one of two men who had been buried in the backyard of a house in Clemmons for five years. He was charged with first-degree murder and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
Prison officials said Algarad had died of an apparent suicide.
The autopsy also showed he had superficial wounds to his left chest, left arm and scalp.
