CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Fort Mill woman says Verizon offered her a great deal, but then changed its mind.
Denise Reid is glued to her phone, like many of us.
"I use my cell phone 24-7," Reid said.
Reid wanted to upgrade phones and said Verizon offered her two new iPhones, buy one get one free for about $700.
But, apparently, weeks passed. Then, Reid said, Verizon told her the deal wasn't actually an option.
"They could not give me a reason as to why," Reid said. "No reason as to why."
She couldn't believe it, especially considering, Reid said, she's been with Verizon for decades.
"I felt very shocked and, for lack of a better word, just totally surprised," Reid said.
So she emailed Action 9 and Reid got her two iPhones for the price of one, like she was supposed to.
It's still not clear what the problem was.
"You and Channel 9 have always been a part of our family," Reid told Action 9. "And I am so thankful and I'm happy!"
These cases are tough. It's your word against the company's. Just make sure you keep good records, like Reid did.
Action 9 may not have been able to get her results without that.
