CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Customers who bought Lumber Liquidators Chinese-made laminate floors are much closer to cashing in.
Lumber Liquidators to pay $36M to settle lawsuits over toxic flooring
In 2015, a national report claimed the flooring had high levels of the cancer-causing chemical formaldehyde.
Customers sued the company. Officials with the business didn't admit to wrongdoing, but agreed to settle for $36 million, most of it in cash and the rest in store credit.
Now, a federal court gave preliminary approval to the settlement, with plans to give the final approval in October.
