CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In April, Action 9 exposed Jeff Blackwell for doing electrical work without a license.
One week later, a judge ordered him to stop and a few months later, a judge ordered his son to stop doing electrical work without a license too.

A few months after that, Desiree Dalton went online, searched electricians, found the Blackwells and hired them.
The state's electrical board told Action 9 another customer also claims the Blackwells kept doing electrical work after the judge ordered them to stop.
The state board is investigating the Blackwells.
If officials think they're still doing electrical work without a license, the board could ask a judge to hold them in contempt, which could mean a fine or even jail time.
Action 9 called, emailed and texted Jeff Blackwell Wednesday and Thursday to get his side of the story.
He's responded in the past, but not this time.
"This is a safety thing. You can't come in here. I don't want people's lives on my hands from someone being in here doing shoddy work and, then, there's a fire and God forbid something happens to someone, that's why I'm hiring an electrician to do it the right way," Dalton said.
She said the Blackwells did two days of work, then stopped showing up and that's when she researched them more.

Dalton said she found Action 9's initial news report, realized they weren't licensed electricians after all and wants her money back.
She paid the men $4,800 for the work.
"I texted him like every day. Even begged him for my money back," she told Action 9. "I worked hard for that money," she said. "It's just gone."
