CHARLOTTE — During the pandemic, people with pre-existing health conditions still need their treatment and medication -- and people with diabetes are about to save a lot of money.
Eli Lilly announced on Tuesday it will limit the out-of-pocket cost of insulin to $35 a month.

Action 9 investigator Jason Stoogenke has been looking into the sharp increases in insulin prices for months.
The savings are available to the uninsured and commercially insured people with Type 1 diabetes, but not Medicaid or Medicare patients.
You need to call Eli Lilly’s Diabetes Solution Center toll-free line to get the savings, at 833-808-1234. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
