1. Bodie Island Lighthouse
This 1872 lighthouse is open to the public for climbing and self-guided tours from the third Friday in April through Columbus Day. Located on NC12, the national Outer Banks Scenic Byway, this famed beauty is fresh inventory for lighthouse lovers.

2. Horse around on the beach

5. Fort Raleigh National Historic Site
