CHARLESTON, S.C. — Time to plan a trip to the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston to see the World-Famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids! The mermaids will entertain guests at the aquarium March 28 through April 3, 2016.

Hailing from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Spring Hill, Florida, the four mermaids will swim among hundreds of animals, including 8-foot sharks, during three daily performances in the aquarium’s largest exhibit, the Great Ocean Tank.

During each show, the mermaids will delight guests with a highly technical and choreographed routine to musical numbers, inspiring guests of all ages.

The shows will take place at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. daily and are included with general admission to the aquarium.

For the first time since hosting the World-Famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids, a limited number of guests can experience a special date night event, Mermaids & Me, designed for all ages and featuring an exclusive mermaid performance in the Great Ocean Tank. Each attendee will have the opportunity to meet and take a photo with a friendly mermaid on the land. Casual American fare with scrumptious desserts will be served and tickets are priced at $40 per person; children 2 and under free.

During the day, guests may also participate in a photo opportunity with a mermaid and explore expanded interactive areas focused on conservation efforts to sustain the beauty of the ocean.

General admission prices are $24.95 adults (13+), $17.95 youth (3-12) and toddlers (2 and under) are admitted free.
