CONCORD, N.C. — For the eleventh year, Charlotte Motor Speedway will shine brightly for the holidays during its annual Christmas light show.

The drive-thru light display features more than 4 million lights that span a 3.75-mile course illuminating the iconic racetrack. Many of the lights are synchronized to holiday music that visitors can listen to on their car radio as they wind their way through the show.

In addition, Christmas-themed movies will be shown on the giant 16,000-square-foot Speedway TV Thursday through Sunday. See the schedule below.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the infield Christmas village will be closed this year.

New this year, the speedway has added a 5,400-square-foot ice rink.

The rink is made of real ice and will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Skating costs $15 per hour, which includes skate rentals. Tickets and concessions at the ice rink will all be cashless to limit contact points for guests. Capacity will be limited to help with social distancing, and face masks or coverings will be required for all visitors. Parking for those visiting the rink, which is located near the Gate 6 entrance across from the Fan Zone, is free.

Speedway Christmas is open nightly through Jan. 17; the event will be closed Dec. 8-9 and on Christmas Day.

Ticket prices for Speedway Christmas start at $20 per car; prices will be reduced beginning Dec. 30.
