HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Update: The festival has been rescheduled from Aug. 15-16, 2020 to April 17-19, 2021.
Experience the music, dance and athletics of the Scots at the Loch Norman Highland Games festival April 17-19, 2021, at Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville.
The weekend’s family-friendly festivities include bagpipe bands, historic reenactments, Scottish clan societies and merchants, a giant kids’ zone and more.
See world-ranked professional heavy athletes compete in traditional Scottish heavy events like stone and hammer throwing, and watch performers in the Carolinas Open Highland Dancing Championships, one of six sanctioned championships held in the United States.
Festivalgoers can also join in the Scottish country dancing, longbow and battle ax competitions, and search their genealogy.
A weekend pass costs $25 in advance for ages 13 and older or $30 at the gate. Weekend admission for ages 5-12 cost $13 in advance or $15 at the gate.
Single-day admission on Saturday costs $20 in advance or $25 at the gate for ages 13 and older, or $9/$10 for ages 5-12. Sunday admission costs $15 in advance or $20 at the gate for ages 13 and older, or $8/$10 for ages 5-12. Children age 4 and younger are admitted free.
Camping is also available for a cost.
