CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The grand finale of CLT250, the yearlong celebration of Charlotte’s 250th anniversary, is something local music and art fans can shout about -- a 13-day celebration featuring performances from Grammy winner Anthony Hamilton, rock band Umphrey’s McGee, indie pop act Bleachers, plus acclaimed art installations from around the world.

According to Robert Krumbine, chief creative officer for Charlotte Center City Partners, which is producing the festival, “Charlotte SHOUT! is going to be nothing like this city has ever seen.”
The festival, happening April 29 through May 11, will feature more than 75 events that highlight local artists, musicians, chefs and thought leaders.
Highlights include:
- Charlotte Jazz Festival-affiliated events, including performances by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
- Headlining performances at Romare Bearden Park from Anthony Hamilton, the Charlotte native R&B singer, Umphrey's McGee and Bleachers.
- Talking Walls Charlotte featuring murals in three key locations.
- LED light art project Constellation by Christopher Schardt at Convergence Plaza at Trade and Tryon streets.
- Internationally renowned light installations, including the Parer Studio bunnies on The Green Uptown, lighted see-saws of Impulse on Levine Avenue of the Arts, Prismatica on Tryon Street and Entre Les Rangs at First Ward Park.
- Cooking demonstration and tasting with James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Greg Collier, of Uptown Yolk at the 7th Street Public Market.
- Highly curated food trucks and community eating spaces.

Most events will be free to attend, but some will require tickets, which are on sale at charlotteshout.com, blumenthalarts.org or carolinatix.org. Tickets can also be purchased by phone at (704) 372-1000 or in person at the Belk Theater box office at 130 N. Tryon St.
