CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Everyone at Northwest Cabarrus High School says the same thing about senior Christian Heavner, he has a great outlook on life while living with cerebral palsy.

"He's someone I love talking to because you just get this cool vibe from him,” sophomore Chance Barringer said.

Heavner lives and breathes sports.

”He knows so much about sports first of all.  It's just crazy,” junior Hiatt Durham said.

Heavner had plenty to say about his favorite teams, including the Carolina Panthers.

“Getting rid of Josh Norman was a completely wrong move,” he said.

Everyone at Northwest Cabarrus is keeping a huge secret from Christian

He knows that a group of students, called the Junior Dream Team, is raising money so he can have a dream experience with one of his favorite teams. He just doesn't know what it will be.

The team sold shirts that say "Hitting for Heavner."

On Saturday, his classmates are hosting the "Colors for Christian Powder Run."

“We just get to plan something so amazing for a kid who deserves it so much,” Durham said.

The Junior Dream Team is getting an assist to make this dream happen from Charlotte-area charity "Dream on 3," which has fallen in love with Heavner.

“He's extremely humble," Dream on 3 executive director Elizabeth Lindsey said. "He doesn't necessarily like being in the spotlight. He's gracious,”

Heavner will get a VIP pep rally at school where he will learn the details of his dream come true in the spring.
