20 days of service marks Classroom Central’s 20th year

2022 marks Classroom Central’s 20th anniversary. To celebrate this major milestone, Classroom Central  invites the public to be part of its 20 days of service.

There are several ways to participate in the initiative, from activities to volunteerism.

Today you can write notes of encouragement to teachers by sharing positivity throughout the school year. Once completed, pack a set of 10 notes in a Ziploc bag labeled “Teacher” and mail them or drop them off at Classroom Central.

Download Classroom Centrals, the clickable calendar, to learn more about how to participate in each activity.

Classroom Central equips students in need to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies to their teachers.

Classroom Central serves teachers and students in nearly 200 schools across six school districts in the Charlotte Region. Supplies are distributed through its Free Store, Mobile Free Store and several other community-supported programs.

WSOC-TV and Classroom Central have been partnered together for the television station’s 9 School Tools program.

WSOC-TV’s 9 School Tools campaign is a part of the Channel 9 Family Focus brand and was introduced in 1997.

Covering over 22 counties, this is the largest school supply drive in the Carolinas and has served over 5 million children to date.

In partnership with Classroom Central and Communities in Schools Charlotte-Mecklenburg, WSOC-TV collects school supplies, which are then distributed to students in grades K-12.
