Litsa Pappas, Boston 25 News

Reporter

Litsa is a general assignment reporter for Boston 25 News and is thrilled to be doing the job she loves back in her hometown! She joined the Boston 25 newsroom in May 2017 after spending six years as a reporter in the South. After graduating from Syracuse University, Litsa landed her first reporter job at WHSV in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She then moved further south to Charlotte, NC, where she would report and anchor for nearly four years at Spectrum News (formerly Time Warner Cable News). While working in Charlotte, Litsa covered several national stories, from the riots following the Keith Scott police shooting, to the monumental vote to take down the Confederate Flag at South Carolina’s capital following the Charleston church massacre, to the historic flooding in Columbia, and the Carolina Panthers journey to Super Bowl 50. Litsa will also never forget working in major swing states during the 2012 and the 2016 presidential elections, where she covered many campaign stops, as well as the national fall out to the controversial ‘bathroom bill’ passed in North Carolina. Along with covering politics, Litsa also took on education reporter duties in Charlotte. She covered the controversial student reassignment plan for one of the largest school districts in the country. She broke stories on major votes for the district as it worked to eliminate segregation, increase teacher pay, and hire a new leader after the superintendent’s shocking resignation. After covering education extensively for a few years, Litsa found a passion for helping students in lower performing schools. She became a volunteer through Reading Partners and looks forward to continuing to work with students in Boston! Aside from reporting, Litsa loves to cook, try new restaurants, travel, spend time with family, and cheer on all the Boston sports teams! Litsa grew up in Sharon, MA and she loves to visit Greece, where she still has family. You can send story ideas (and restaurant recommendations!) her way.
