BAMBURG COUNTY, S.C. — The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in Bamberg County, South Carolina.
The town, south of Orangeburg, suffered significant damage after the storm moved through Tuesday afternoon. It caused flooding in the area, downed trees, and downed powerlines, according to WCIV.
Video there shows bricks littering the streets. Residents said the storm left a trail of damage behind downtown.
Crews with the South Carolina Department of Transportation said they are beginning recovery work.
However, no injuries have been reported.
It’s one of two tornadoes the agency confirmed in South Carolina. The second was an EF-1 off Lake Murray, which is west of Columbia near the town of Chapin.
