Six tornadoes were preliminarily reported across three states, with four alone in northeast Oklahoma.

At least seven people were injured in Owasso and northern Tulsa, with about one square mile of residential area sustaining damage from a tornado.

According to Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Stan May, one home was destroyed and other residences and businesses sustained roof and structural damage.

The Tulsa National Weather Service office will be out on Thursday to survey the damage and will estimate wind speeds and the strength of Wednesday night’s tornado.

The line of strong thunderstorms continues to march eastward.

The greatest risk of severe weather on Thursday will be across portions of Kentucky, western Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi, with possible strong winds, large hail, and tornadoes.

For the Carolinas, showers look to move in after midnight, reducing the threat of severe weather.

Brief, heavy rain continues to be the biggest concern for Thursday night into Friday morning, with small hail and strong winds also possible.

The tornado threat is low for both North and South Carolina.

Scattered showers will linger through Friday, before moving out early Saturday morning.
