Friday outlook: Temperatures were running cooler Friday morning, but they're nothing compared to what is on the way this weekend. Highs by Friday afternoon will only warm to near 60 degrees, with a chance for a few spotty showers.

Weekend chill: The rain will move out in time for the weekend as the cold air returns. Temps will struggle to warm into the mid-50s Saturday before plunging below freezing by Sunday morning, with a hard freeze expected in the mountains. Those frigid conditions will start to rebound by Sunday afternoon and highs return to the 70s next week.
