Pep rally welcomes show to Charlotte area

BELMONT, N.C.,None — "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is coming to the Charlotte area.

A big crowd gathered recently for a pep rally at Belmont Abbey to welcome the hit ABC show to the area.

This weekend, the cast of the show will knock on the door of a deserving family in the area and surprise them with a new home. The home makeover will take seven days to complete, and it's being done by local builder Bellamy Homes. Hundreds of people have volunteered, but the project still needs donations.

"We would really love everyone to help out as much as possible," said Frank Hereda with Bellamy Homes. "It's all about the family, and this family is so deserving. We are so excited we can offer this to them. We want to take advantage of it."
