TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — The storm that rolled in late Friday knocked over a large oak, which fell onto a historic church in Taylorsville.
Reporter Dave Faherty spoke with the pastor about what is next for the congregation.

Rev. Paul Sink said no one was inside at the time the tree toppled onto Taylorville Presbyterian, a church that has been around since the early 1900s.
"My heart sunk and I feel particularly for those who have been members of the church their whole lives and generations before them,” Sink said. “It is just a building. We are very fortunate it did not happen during a worship service."
They plan on moving items to their fellowship hall across the street, where they will have service Sunday morning, Sink said.
