YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A York City Police sergeant returned to work Wednesday after he was shot last month while trying to find and arrest a domestic violence suspect.
Sgt. Kyle Cummings was one of four officers shot Jan. 16 while trying to take 47-year-old Christian McCall into custody near York.

York County deputies Randy Clinton, Buddy Brown and Mike Doty were also shot during the incident. Doty died from his injuries the next day.
McCall suffered injuries to his leg and arm after being shot when police returned fire. He is still being treated at Carolinas Medical Center.
The investigation into the shooting remains active as officials continue to conduct interviews and gather evidence.
